Tekes. Modern tea ceremony

Tékés is a series of tea-making products, designed to pay homage to the timeless
elegance of the traditional Japanese tea ceremony.
Rooted in centuries of tradition, this collection reimagines the art of tea preparation
in a contemporary context, infusing each step with functionality and aesthetic harmony.

The heart of Tékés lies in the seamless integration of form and function across the product range.
Every piece has been designed to work in perfect harmony with the others.
Each product in the series embodies the spirit of the Japanese tea ceremony.

The design goal and inspiration were to catch the delicate balance between tradition and modernity.

inspiration :

The design process included a deep understanding of the user scenario combining
a wide form exploration. This process allowed for a deeply user-focused product,
tailored to enhance human interactions.

Shape exploration

The first product in the Tékés collection is the electric mortar and pestle.
It reimagines the initial step of the Japanese tea ceremony.
The design of this product features a glass bowl with two ceramic spheres inside,
set in motion by a built-in mechanism.

The  kettle, the second in the series, takes a unique approach to tea preparation.
It integrates with the lower part of the electric mortar and pestle,
which acts as a receptacle for the crushed leaves.
The kettle elegantly snaps onto this base, creating a harmonious connection.

The docking station serving tray, the concluding piece in the  series,
this tray, crafted from maple wood, follows the tradition of a long and low profile.
On its surface, it hosts the tea kettle for serving,
embracing the essence of the final steps of the ceremony.
